Tour Description
Your tour will start after a short tender transfer into Belize City. You will board a motor coach and travel approximately 29 miles West to the wonderful wildlife habitat known as The Belize Zoo. A sanctuary for the country's indigenous species, the Belize Zoo was first created for animals which were injured or donated to the facility and which could not be returned to the wild. The Belize Zoo is home to an impressive array of Large Cats, Primates, Reptiles and Birds. This gives you the opportunity of viewing Belize's prolific wildlife in one location. Then it's on to see the “city sights” of Belize City.

Belize City today remains the commercial capital of Belize and is home to about 75,000 people. The Colonial Governor's Mansion, Redbrick St. John's Cathedral and the Supreme Court buildings, flanked by cannons used in the “Battle of St. George's Caye” in 1798, are only a few of the sites left over from the Belize Colonial past. Note the Colonial wooden architecture that is evident throughout many of the Belize City buildings. Your guide will provide an interesting reflection of Belize City history, Belize City culture and the social structure of Belize City. The tour ends at the Smoky Mermaid for complimentary drinks.
